MAHALO NUI LOA TO THE DANIEL K. INOUYE MEMORIAL FUND
Hawaii 3R’s is honored to be among the first recipients of a grant award from the Daniel K. Inouye Memorial Fund. “This grant award validates the work that 3Rs has done over the past 12 years,” said Alan Oshima, chair of the Hawaii 3R’s board of directors. “And we’re truly honored that Irene Hirano Inouye recognized the effort started by her late husband with this program.”
Mahalo Mrs. Inouye for your continued support of the late senator’s legacy to Hawaii.
YES, HAWAII 3R’S IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS!
When Senator Inouye passed away unexpectedly last December, we, like many others, were deeply saddened. As we pause to reflect on the senator’s many accomplishments, including this little organization called Hawaii 3R’s, we are again struck by his tremendous wisdom, insight and ability to get things done!
After 12 years of school repair projects representing over $17.7 million and 186 schools statewide, we are taking this opportunity to reassess our effectiveness and how well we are meeting our mission. We think it is a timely and necessary evaluation that we hope will result in a more streamlined process of operations and maximum resource allocation. The end result, we believe, will be increased transparency and accountability as we move forward to help Hawaii’s public schools in the years ahead.
